What Is God's Kingdom Like?Sýnishorn
Believers will reign with Jesus
By your [Jesus’] blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:9-10)
Jesus is King. He has authority over everything. But He does not reign alone. The book of Revelation teaches us that believers will also receive a place of rulership in the Kingdom. When Jesus’ Kingdom is established completely, His followers will reign with Him over the earth.
God gave them dominion over all living things when the first human couple was created. They should work and keep the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, man failed in his responsibility when he rebelled against God. But when Jesus restores all things, He will also restore man’s original position as steward of creation. He will reign forever.
During their earthly lives, followers of Jesus often experience the opposite. They are persecuted and looked down upon. But Jesus calls them blessed, “for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” These people are not arrogant and proud but “poor in spirit” and “meek.” Nevertheless, “they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:3-10). They are like Jesus, who is humble and merciful while having the ultimate authority on earth and in heaven.
Can you imagine what it will be like to reign on the earth with Jesus Christ?
About this Plan
Jesus invites people into the kingdom of God. This is not an actual physical place. It transcends time and space, which makes it difficult to see what God’s Kingdom exactly is. Let’s read a collection of Bible passages to learn what God’s Kingdom is and how you can inherit it.
