Your Parents Weren't Perfect...But God Is!

DAY 2 OF 7

I Can Bear All Your Sorrow

Let’s begin by revisiting the first few lines of what Holy Spirit said to us in Day 1 of this plan.

“You are not motherless. You are not fatherless. I do more than stand in the gap of what has failed you. I take your pain, and I feel it, too. I can bear all your sorrow. I can take all your anger.

"Give it to Me. Over and over again. Give it to Me.”

Take a deep breath now, feeling the air fill your lungs, your chest expanding. Count to four: one, two, three, four. Hold the breath in for a moment.

And now exhale to a count of four. One, two, three, four.

As you continue to breathe deep breaths to the count of four—four counts in, four counts out—prepare to get comfortable, and close your eyes.

Surrender your mind, your ideas, your feelings to Jesus now. Ask Him to give you a picture, an image in your mind, your imagination, of what He wants to show you in these words:

“You are not motherless. You are not fatherless. I do more than stand in the gap of what has failed you. I take your pain, and I feel it, too. I can bear all your sorrow. I can take all your anger.

"Give it to Me. Over and over again. Give it to Me.”

Keep breathing. Stay relaxed. Let Jesus show you what He means with these words for you. What does He have for you now?

When you have spent a few moments breathing, listening, and imagining, consider how you would describe your experience. What did you see? What is Jesus doing in you now?
