Why Give? 4 Compelling Reasons to Give MoreSýnishorn
It Strengthens Our Faith
God will provide for you. One of His names is Jehovah-Jireh, which means “The Lord will provide.” It is one thing to know about God as provider and it is something different to know Him as My Provider.
One way we can come to experience Him as a Provider is to give. Whether you are new to generous living or you are seasoned at it and considering a sacrificial offering, giving opens you up to experience the faithfulness of God.
God’s faithfulness goes beyond just providing for what we need, but He commits to put enough in our hands so we can give away to other people. Today, ask the Lord to show you who you can give something to.
“After all, God can give you everything that you need, so that you may always have sufficient both for yourselves and for giving away to other people...” 2 Cor 9:8 PHILLIPS
I am reminded of Paul’s encouragement that the Ephesian church experiences God’s love which goes beyond simple knowledge about God’s love. In much the same way, giving is one way we can come to experience the faithful provision of our Jehovah-Jireh both to us and to those around us.
“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]...” Ephesians 3:19 AMP
