Jesus: Higher Than All

DAY 3 OF 9

Jesus is God with Us

“He is the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15)

We humans can’t see God unless He reveals Himself to us in a special way. The most special way in which God revealed Himself to humans was when God the Son became human and lived among us. He was fully man- people could see and touch Him. However, at the same time, He was fully God, holy, almighty, and omniscient. Therefore, Jesus says to His disciples, “Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). Jesus is not talking about His outward appearance here since He just looked like an ordinary Jewish man. He is talking about His character, about Whom He really is. If you know Him, you know God the Father since they are one. Jesus is exactly like the Father. They are one in the same God. Although no one has ever seen God, Jesus Christ has made Him known. The information He gives us about the invisible God is reliable since Jesus is “full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

When you read about Jesus in the gospels, what do you learn about God’s nature and character?
