Year of the Bible: Part Six of Twelve

DAY 14 OF 30

Sing and Dance: Here Comes the Presence of God!

One of the highlights of David’s story is his unwavering loyal love toward God. David, like all of us, had his flaws. However, God was always pleased with David’s unyielding loyalty to Him. Even when confronted with his sin, David knew to come to God, who was and still is worthy to be praised.

When the Ark of the Covenant, which represents the Presence of God, came into the City of David, David’s proper reaction was exuberant praise and worship. Let each of us seek to become like David, offering exuberant praise and worship to God when we enter into His presence. Whether we enter God's presence in a church setting or in our private times of prayer or Bible reading, let us give God the praise and worship that He is due.

Question: When you screw up, do you quickly go to Jesus about it, or do you tend to want to hide yourself away for a while first?

Prayer: Thank you, Father, that our bodies are now the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that we can give You praise, worship, and thanksgiving for Your wonderful presence in our everyday lives.

Go Deeper: Did you know, the spirit of Religion says: "I messed up. My Dad's gonna kill me"
but the Gospel teaches us to say: "I messed up. I need to talk to my Dad." The next time you find yourself falling short, return to God quickly, with your eyes and heart open to His enduring loyal love for you, remembering you are not able to fix yourself, only your heavenly Father can do that for you.
