Your Story Is Not Done

DAY 4 OF 5

“Do you see me?”

On my way to drop off my kids at school one morning, I noticed an interesting site in the lane next to me. An old Honda Civic, its back end held together by duct tape, and upon closer observation, rust covered the expanse of the back door on the driver’s side but was “camouflaged". The owner had spray-painted over the rust. It didn’t convince me the rust was gone; it drew more attention to that area. Paint drips had dried to shiny streaks, and the spray paint was off just enough in color. It was like a glaring highlighter. The car appeared just as sad under the hood, barely making it from one stop light to the next.

Do you sometimes feel like that old car, barely making it from one day to the next? Has this past season of compounding trauma and nonstop routine stolen the best from you? Maybe you even feel forgotten. There is One who cares more than you know. His name is Jesus. One of his other names is El Roi, the God who sees me.

“He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver and honor him."Psalm 91:15. He wants to be invited into your life, even if all you have is a whisper right now. All you have to do is meet His gaze. The Author of your faith is waiting for you.
