Where Are You, God?

DAY 7 OF 7

If you believe...you will see!

"The investigation is closed." Such a short sentence with so much power! For several years, we as a family lived through an absolute nightmare. Though innocent, we—especially my mother—were being sued with a viciousness that can hardly be put into words.

My mother is an incredible woman. During this time when she could have lost faith, she threw herself even more into trusting God, even when she didn’t feel His presence. I learned two very powerful truths from my mother:

  • "Proclaim the truth, even if you can't see it yet." Again and again, my mom pronounced that God has the victory. "My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge…" (Psalm 7:10-11, NKJV)
  • "Pray not against your enemies but for them." Instead of condemning this person who wanted to destroy her with so much hatred, my mother prayed for him: "'But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.'" (Matthew 5:44-45, NIV)

I was there to see John 11:40 become real: "'Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?'" (John 11:40, NIV)

Believing is difficult when you're in the middle of a fierce storm and, like my mother, innocent in court. In these moments, you may think, "Jesus, can't You run in here right now and stand up for my rights?"

But based on this experience, I was reminded once again that Jesus had been there all along. He knew when the time was right to intervene. You don't always see Jesus clearly in the moment, but He is always close to you! :-)

Stay strong, believing in Jesus, who is your victory!

You're a miracle!
