Daily Bible Reading, July 2022: God’s Renewing Word of FaithSýnishorn
July 8
Introduction
Today’s reading is the conclusion to the book of Deuteronomy. From the top of Mount Pisgah in Moab, the LORD shows Moses the Promised Land, but he is not allowed to enter it (see Deuteronomy 3:23-28; 32:48-52; Numbers 20:1-13). Moses dies at age 120 and is mourned by the people for thirty days.
Scripture Reading
Deuteronomy 34:1-12
Today’s Key Verse: Deuteronomy 34:10
There has never been a prophet in Israel like Moses; the LORD spoke with him face-to-face.
Reflect
Moses was a prophet who understood God’s will, interpreted it for the people, and carried it out as God’s servant. Reread verses 10-12. How is Moses remembered? In what ways do you honor and remember those who have helped to shape and guide you on your faith journey?
Pray
God of promise, thank you for your steadfast love and care. Draw me near to you and order my steps this day. Teach me your ways that I may serve you faithfully always. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Joshua 1:1-18: God commands Joshua to conquer Canaan.
