Reflections On Hope

DAY 4 OF 21

His Scripture was part of a prophetic word given by Jeremiah to the people of Judah who had been taken captive in Babylon. They must have felt like God had abandoned them in this dry and barren land.

When we are facing overwhelming challenges, and are struggling to pray and read God’s Word, we can easily lose our perspective and lose hope. Our problems seem larger than life – it is as though we are looking at them through a microscope!

Today, we may feel that we are living in a strange land with many of our relatives, neighbours and work colleagues having a different belief system to us. Some may even despise us because of our faith in Christ.

If your vision is blurred and your life seems out of focus, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of your faith! If you are suffering persecution because of your faith, struggling with life, and feeling isolated, don’t despair!

You can find comfort and hope in the Words of God. Because God is all-knowing and all-seeing, we can have confidence that our present circumstances or location is not a problem to God! He can cause rivers to flow in desert places and provide quail to feed us!

We may be surrounded by enemies, but God will protect and provide for us! He declared to the people of Judah that they would prosper! Nothing is impossible for Him! Similarly, God can work a miracle in your situation!

He is a way-maker, and He will complete the good work that He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

We can get a new outlook on life by adjusting our viewing lens! If we look through a telescope, our perspective is completely different! There is greater depth and distance to our vision, where new possibilities can be seen on the horizon and exciting discoveries to be revealed!

You can be full of hope today because God knows you intimately. He protects you, and your future is secured in His mighty plans!
