Daily Bible Reading – June 2022: God’s Renewing Word of New Life in the SpiritSýnishorn
June 1
Introduction
The apostle Paul explains baptism as being buried with Christ and sharing in his death to be raised to live a new life.
Scripture Reading
Romans 6:1-14
Today’s Key Verse: Romans 6:8
Since we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
Reflect
The opening rhetorical question (verse 1) responds to Romans 5:20, wherein Paul says that “Law was introduced in order to increase wrongdoing; but where sin increased, God’s grace increased much more.” What are your thoughts concerning Paul’s response? What does Paul say in verse 2? How does living under God’s grace (verse 14) impact your life?
Pray
Lord God, living under your grace has set me free from the power of sin so that I now live in fellowship with you through Christ Jesus. Now that I have died to sin, may I live each day according to your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Romans 6:15-23: The apostle Paul describes what it means to be slaves of righteousness.
