Forget Not: 3 Things Christians Must Not ForgetSýnishorn
The Children of Israel murmured, turned their backs on God, entered into captivity (mental and physical), and were destroyed because they forgot God. They forgot God’s Word, God as their provider, and forgot God after they entered their promised land. See Judges 8:28-35; Hosea 4:6; Numbers 14:20-45; 1 Corinthians 10:10
We will experience unnecessary challenges and defeats when we forget God’s benefits and His Word and forget him after we become comfortable or have plenty. Let’s examine how to “forget not.”
Remember All God’s Benefit/Forget Not All His Benefits
Psalm 103:2 (KJV) says: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits
Do not forget that God can meet your needs, has met your needs, and meets the needs of His children.
Your soul comprises your mind, will, and emotions. A mind that forgets God's benefits will be troubled, anxious, and confused. A mind conscious of God’s benefits is peaceful, free from worries and anxieties.
Isaiah 26:3 (AMP) says, "You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]."
We will murmur when we focus on our problems instead of the benefits of God. Remember His benefits when adversities come your way and you have seasons of “it’s not supposed to be this way.”
When your little ones are sick, don't forget the benefits of serving a God who heals, and the benefits of having access to the Word that heals.
Don't forget the benefits of having spiritual weapons of warfare, and don't forget the benefits of praying. In every situation, don't forget God.
Live, conscious of God’s benefits. Never forget that God daily loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19). Psalm 68:19 (AMP) says, "Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burden day by day, The God who is our salvation! Selah." God has daily provisions for you, keep Him in mind. God is your source and burden bearer. And the peace of God will flood your heart and mind.
Ponder and personalize these scriptures: Psalm 68:19; Psalm 103:2
Consider printing them out, or memorizing them.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the benefit of being your child and all the benefits that come with it. Forgive me for forgetting your benefits. In the name of Jesus, teach me to live conscious of you, fixing my eyes on you and trusting in your faithfulness to care for me.
