The Trailblazing WomenSýnishorn
How far are you willing to go for the one you love? I have learned that with true love comes sacrifice and exposing your true self to someone. There is one particular woman who impacted my life; she poured her oil on the feet of Jesus while using her hair to wipe his feet. We are used to attending church for an hour and a half and continuing our week without a true encounter with Jesus but reading this story reminds me that I want my daily posture to be like Mary of Bethany.
I remember growing up I didn’t truly understand the significance of giving it all to Jesus. My mom accepted Jesus when I was young and I would see how much she would go after Jesus and love him. I grew up making fun of it and not understanding how she would risk it all for him. She knew the significance of pouring it all to Jesus and how much of a reward that was. One night, I encountered Jesus like never before. A moment where Jesus encountered me, loved me and I couldn’t help but truly love him back. When I truly accepted Jesus into my life, my friends didn’t understand why I always wanted to go to church. People didn’t understand why I was so in love with this man named Jesus.
This story taught me the importance of giving it all to Jesus. Once she poured the perfume the house was filled with this special fragrance. It taught me that my sacrifice and my worship is like a fragrance that fills the room and pleases the Lord. Every time I worship, my desire is for my worship to be like a fragrance up to his throne room. That he would know how much I truly love him and that I am willing to give it all for him.
Prayer
Lord I thank you for women like Mary. A woman that was willing to risk it all to move your heart. I pray that I will always seek you and give it all to you. I pray that I would never let others dictate the way I should worship you but that I would worship you like Mary did, pouring everything unto your feet. I pray that through my worship, I can impact others to go after you just like my mom impacted me to go after you. Thank you Lord, for being so good to me. Let my heart remain grateful for all of your constant goodness. I love you, I need you and I trust you, Jesus. In your name I pray, Amen.
