Your Emotional Health MattersSýnishorn
The Kick-Off!
As we kick off this five-day devotional, get ready to be transformed! This will mean rolling up your sleeves to do some deep work, switching off the other apps as you read this devotional, and above all, putting God first. Here is the starter kit that you can grab hold of from 3 John 2, ‘Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.’
Yes! Your physical and spiritual health is as crucial to God as is your emotional and mental health. As you read this, perhaps you’ve had a difficult season. Maybe it was a personal loss, unexpected events, and then a massive sense of uncertainty. Or, some days, anxiety and panic simply left you numb. And in trying to cope or get by, you switch to survival mode rather than thriving mode.
But survival is not God’s plan for you. He wants you to thrive and prosper in ‘all things and be in health.’ And the first step to navigate this journey is to take stock of your ‘emotion barometer,’ what stresses your emotional wellbeing, and allow God to course correct.
When you face your ‘causes of distress’ head-on, you can expect three things:
1. You stake claim to the life and health that is rightfully yours
2. You begin to heal so that others get to heal through you
3. You do your role in the redemption of the universe!
We all struggle with making the right choices regarding our emotional health. It takes courage and faith, but you get to make those powerful choices beginning now!
We’re going to land this plane four days from today. As you come on board, we invite you to join us on a journey of addressing four major obstacles to sound emotional health and, in doing so, experiencing the transformative work of Christ in your life! Doors are closing…it’s time for take-off!
Prayer:
God, I thank you for wanting me to thrive and not just survive. I set aside every distraction that hinders and weighs me down. You have anointed and set me free! I trust you. I surrender myself into Your hands. Restore me. Take my anxiety, fear, regret, and shame and exchange it for Your joy, beauty, and honor. Amen!
