Women of WorthSýnishorn
The writers of the Gospel affirm that many women were the extraordinary recipients of Jesus’ self-revelation. During her confounding grief and anguish, he tells Martha, “I am the Resurrection and the Life.” as they weep together at her brother’s grave. We see Him reveal to the Samaritan woman at the well that He is the Messiah. A small group of faithful women are the first witnesses to the Resurrection in all the Gospel accounts.
The Resurrection is the most significant moment in all of human history, a moment when life or death rests in the balance, and so critical a moment that our eternal destiny depends on it. What great honor these women received. Thank you, Jesus. These women walked with the Lord, ministered to Him, supported His ministry, and were hungry for His Word. They loved Him, and He loved them. The Word of Truth reassures us Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He loves us!
This is why I serve and bow down to Jesus, the Lover of my soul and keeper of my heart. He loves His daughters today and always.
Reflection: What do these Scriptures reveal about the character of Christ?
Recognize: Based on these Scriptures, write a statement of Truth about the love Jesus has for you?
Respond: These women were trusted to share the news of His resurrection and so are you. Today choose to share the power of His resurrection.
