He Is The Bread Of Life
READ: Micah 5:2-5a
Micah was a minor prophet in the Old Testament. He was a minor prophet because his book was smaller than some of the others, not because he wasn’t important! As we discussed yesterday, prophecies are promises from God. In today’s reading, Micah prophesies that Jesus will be born in Bethlehem and that He will be great! (And bring peace!) This prophecy reminds us that God is very detailed. Bethlehem means “House of Bread.” Read John 6:35. What does Jesus say? Jesus was born in the “House of Bread” and is the “Bread of Life.” God cares about every little detail, and His plan is perfect.
ASK:
How have you seen God in the details of your life?
GO:
LET’S BAKE!!
Has all this talk of bread made you hungry? Make a loaf of bread or some muffins to eat as a snack or at dinner or with some butter or jam. As you eat your bread today, remember Jesus’ words in John 6:35.

About this Plan
As we anticipate the birth and celebration of Jesus Christ, let’s help our families slow down and take time to really think about our Savior’s coming. This devotional experience is meant to do just that! Give you and your family dedicated time each day to READ (the scripture), ASK (some questions) and GO (serve our family, neighbors, and world).
