Getting Unstuck
When you're stuck, where do you look for help? Do you talk to everyone who will listen? Do you complain to your parents, spouse, kids, and friends? The psalmist had it right: our dependence, our source of release, is in God alone. Trying to get sympathy or advice from people may help to some degree, but ultimately only the Lord can spring our feet from the traps we find ourselves in.
Prayer: Too often, Father God, I find myself stuck, caught in one of Satan's snares, trying to pull me down. I acknowledge my helplessness in those situations. Today I affirm that, like the psalmist, my eyes are focused on you. Only you, through the Holy Spirit, can set me free. I'm counting on it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
