Jesus revealed the Father
“No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, He has made him known.” (John 1:18)
One of the things Jesus did when He lived on earth, was to reveal who God the Father really is. And that was necessary, since man had developed many wrong concepts of God. Satan had been deceiving humanity for thousands of years. Already in the Garden of Eden, he insinuated that God begrudged Adam and Eve being like Him. His lies worked: Adam and Eve started to distrust God’s goodness.
Along these lines, many people who have been alienated from their Creator, think of God as a powerful but loveless judge who likes to throw people into hell. They are afraid of Him, since they can never live up to his demanding commandments and thus expect to be condemned.
But Jesus revealed the Father in a completely different way. In becoming human, He showed that “God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Moreover, Jesus’ words and acts were full of grace and truth. This revealed the character of God the Father as well. For, Jesus says, “whoever has seen me has seen the Father … I am in the Father and the Father is in me” (John 14:9,11).

About this Plan
The apostle John wrote a book about Jesus, “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). This reading plan goes through many Scripture verses, and the first chapters of John’s gospel, to discover who Jesus is.
