Joy in EnduranceSýnishorn
The world is going crazy! We’ve never seen such chaos, and so many using the pandemic and other problems to come against churches and believers. There has always been persecution against Christians, ever since Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, and there always will be until Jesus comes back for us. But it has never been so widespread. Many are living in fear – and it has affected many of us who are Jesus followers. When do we submit, and when do we stand firm? Our families and jobs are at risk. We don’t want to hurt our families!
As we said before, Jesus said that they who endure to the end will be saved. But then He encourages us in John 15:7, telling us that if we abide or live in Him, and if His words abide in us – we can ask what we wish, and our wish will be granted. He cares about each one of us, and our families. This is the beauty of endurance. If we stay in Him, and His words live in us, He will be our advocate, working alongside us on our behalf.
Then in John 8:35, Jesus promises us that as His sons (and daughters) we remain forever in His house and in His family. That is the joy and crowning glory of endurance!
Let us live today in a way that blesses those we meet and changes the world around us because our source of Life is Jesus Christ Himself!
About this Plan
We are often called to endurance or perseverance in the Scriptures, and we agree with the goal; but it seems so difficult and tiring. Can we even make it? These lessons look at endurance in a new way from Scripture, that is uplifting and joyful.
