Solomon Says: A 5-Day Plan for TweensSýnishorn
Day 5
Have you ever had someone watching you? Maybe when you were playing a sport, sing-ing in your house, or taking a test. How did it make you feel?
It can probably feel several different ways depending on who is watching you. If it’s a parent, you likely feel safe and loved, connected and cared for. If it’s the cheering fans of your team, you feel encouraged. When a coach or teacher watches you, you might feel the need to be careful and do your best. And if an audience has their eyes on you, it can make you feel nervous!
No matter how it feels, being observed can be one of the best ways for us to grow. When we are watched by someone who cares about us, we can be assured that we are seen, valued, and important. We can also be encouraged or gently corrected. There’s a better chance at everyone being honest and fair when someone is keeping a watchful eye, and it’s easier for us to ask for and receive help. One of the ways we know God cares deeply for us is that He is always watching us! He sees us in our best behavior and also in our worst behavior. He knows how to celebrate us in just the way we need. He also knows how to correct and comfort us with His Holy Spirit.
Because God always has His eyes on us, we know we are safe. By making good choices, walking in wisdom, and being kind, we can always give Him our best—even if no one else is watching. We can also always trust that He will bring justice when we’ve been hurt because He sees that too. God being present with us is the best company we can ask for!
---
Dear God,
Help me to remember You are always with me. Remind me to be comforted, cared for, and connected in Your presence. Thank You for watching over me. Amen.

Cut a piece of paper into twenty pieces. On each piece, write down an activity you did this week. For example: soccer practice, homework, birthday party. Fold each piece of paper, and put them all in a jar.
Take each piece of paper out one by one. Think about whether or not you sensed God’s presence with you during that activity and divide the pieces into “yes” and “no” piles. If your “yes” pile is larger, stop and thank God for making Himself known to you! If your “no” pile was the winner, stop and pray for a few minutes. Ask God to reveal Himself to you in new and everyday ways. Ask Him to open your ears and eyes throughout each day so that you can sense Him with you. Enjoy watching Him answer!
