[Revelation] The Comeback: White Horse Return

DAY 2 OF 4

Faithful and True

We read that the Lord Jesus will return a second time riding a white horse. He is called Faithful and True. As Christians, we must follow His example by being faithful and true ourselves. We must be true when we turn in the right record of hours worked, the right workload, the right travel or purchase expenses, and the right arrival time. There will still be problems, but at least they won’t be self-induced.

Psalm 32:2 says: “Blessed is the one . . . in whose spirit is no deceit.”  In verse 5, David says that when he decided not to cover up his iniquity any longer, he confessed his sins to the Lord and God forgave the guilt of his sin. What could the guilt of his sin be? Verse 2 talks about deceit, which leads us to conclude that when David covered up his sins, he was deceiving himself. A glass cup keeps its transparency when clean. When we cover up our sins, we are in guilt because we are not being transparent and honest. Being sincere with oneself is necessary to be honest with God and others. In these verses, we infer that the problem is not only sin, but also deceit. The Son of God paid a price to forgive our sins and to cleanse us of all wrongdoing. However, He did not rid us of our deceit. We ourselves must acknowledge it and decide not to hide our faults anymore, so God can cleanse our hearts.

We see, then, that the real problem is not our faults or shortcomings; the trouble is failing to acknowledge them before the Lord and not being true before Him. The Lord desires truth in our inmost being. When there is deceit in us, our spirits are also in deceit. Thus, deceit is a spiritual problem. It brings blindness and prevents us from confessing our sins to find freedom.

We need to ask the Holy Ghost to enlighten the eyes of our hearts to reveal those sins we cannot see, those that are still hidden from us. There is only one starting point with God, and that is truth. He does not demand a sin-free life, but He does require us to speak the truth from the heart.
