Sorry Not SorrySýnishorn
PEOPLE, not PREFERENCE.
Why does this value tend not to stick with us? Because it's not convenient! When everything we do is either out of convenience, out of ease, or self-centered, we need to take a long hard look in the mirror and make sure we're staying committed to what we set out to do. Where we see this in the Bible is actually in Jesus' very last words to His disciples. He doesn't say 'stay in your church and make the best programs.' He doesn't say 'make sure you have all the ministries that the next church has.' He says go into all the world and make disciples.
There's actually not even a hint of a method listed - all Jesus is interested in is the results of changed lives.
Now of course the caveat should be placed here that our content is always the same: Christ crucified. But the way we go about reaching people - that's fluid. It has to be! We need to be a people that says 'we will do anything short of sin to reach people far from Christ.' Why? Because Christ told us to! But the end of this passage should encourage us: even though it won't be easy, Christ promises to be with us through the process.
Sorry not sorry, but we need to be about PEOPLE, not PREFERENCE.
About this Plan
Sometimes there are things that just need to be said. This Bible plan walks through some of the values that tend to get lost in the local church because, over time, we tend to make church all about ourselves. It's time to get back to the basics. Buckle up: this might hurt a little. Sorry, not sorry.
