Intimacy With God

DAY 4 OF 5

Paul labored with God’s energy working powerfully within him. We, too, strenuously contend right now with all His energy that works so powerfully within us. We co-labor with Christ, not in our own power but with His energy. The anointing of the Holy Spirit (God’s energy) in us is the same anointing that was in and with Jesus Christ (John 14:23). It’s the same power in which Jesus operated. Jesus told us it was to our advantage that He go away because when He went away, He was able to send the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth who guides us into all truth, speaking not on His own but only what He hears, bringing glory to God (John 16:5–16). In this way, Jesus comes back to us and is able to be with all His people, everywhere, at all times.

The anointing of the Spirit of Jesus is in us through the unity of the Trinity. Jesus essentially tells us, “I’m going to be in you, and my Father and I are going to be in you, and the Spirit is going to be in you, and this is the hope of glory.” This is the mystery that has been hidden but has now been revealed: the power of God is no longer just coming upon priests, and kings, and judges but upon every believer in the new covenant. The new covenant is being fulfilled. The power of the Spirit is coming, and He is upon us now.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for using me to do Your work here on earth, and thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit to guide and assist me. Amen.
