Alive

DAY 3 OF 3

Alive with Christ

We are made alive in Christ. It is because of God’s great love that He made us alive with Christ, and His undeserved mercy and grace saved us from death. Some people believe sin is bad or wrong; the Word of God says that the wages of sin is death. It is God’s forgiveness in our lives that saves us from death. We are saved by faith in Him because of His kindness and goodness. We do not deserve it, but His Word says that He has given us, believers, a place beside Christ in heaven. Doesn’t this make you feel alive? You have eternal life and a seat in heaven when you choose Jesus.

In John 6, we read about the miracles of Jesus and His encounters with people. He tells them that eating bread does not give life, but drinking His blood and eating His flesh would give them eternal life. I realize this can sound crazy. Even the disciples agreed that it was too hard for everyone to understand. But I am pretty sure that by now, you know Jesus was not referring to literally eating Him. Nonetheless, because of this statement, many turned their backs and decided to stop following Him. If we think about it, it happens even in today’s time. We go to church to seek God, but when His answer seems too strange to us, or when life gets crazy or difficult, we turn our backs on Him.

Life is tough! Yet, His Word gives eternal life. Do not turn your back on God and seek the world’s advice instead. Everything else is momentary. The season you are going through is temporary. It is God who is constant and forever faithful. If you have chosen a life in Christ, do not go backward by wanting to see what this world offers. Keep moving forward with Christ. Seek Him so your faith will continue to grow. He has the words of everlasting life. Even though life can be hard at times, we have hope in Him. Our identity in Jesus gives us all the reason to have hope, be joyful, and want to live day to day—no matter what comes at us.

Do not be ashamed of the gospel. Stay the course. The gospel is the power of God that gives us life. The righteous will live by faith and not by what the world sees. He gives us peace and hope and renews our strengths when we feel weak. God’s Word says that those who wait on Him will mount up with wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint.

Many things can make us feel alive, but nothing will beat God’s love in our lives. He has chosen for you to be purposefully present. There is a sparking fire in you. It is a great day to be alive.
