Real Hope: Peace in the ChaosSýnishorn
Stop, Rest, Reflect
If someone were to ask you right now, ‘How are you?’, what would your answer be? I daresay the most likely response would be ‘busy’. Perhaps the next might be ‘tired’. Now I’m a Breakfast radio host, so my days are busy and I feel very tired – but more often than not we have the tendency to run ourselves into the ground.
We never respond to such a question with ‘taking things slowly’, or ‘feeling well rested’. That’s because we go hard. We fill our days to the brim and all the while we’re overloaded with stresses from world news, reminders and messages on our phones, notifications on social media, and more. Often the only way we stop is by our bodies becoming run down with illness, forcing us to. This shouldn’t be the way. Neither should pushing God down the list of priorities. He should always remain at the top.
I’m often struck by the way in which Jesus prays, ‘Give us today our daily bread’. We fill our days with so much, but here we are reminded that we need God in our lives. We need the nourishment that comes from His Word, and to take time to stop and reflect on what blessings He’s giving us. If we take time to rest and reflect on these things, it demonstrates our commitment to God and the priority
He is in our lives. We only live and breathe through God’s goodness, and it’s only right that we lean on Him for help to live in such busy times. Are you going too hard? Find rest in Jesus.

About this Plan
Look at finding peace in the chaos. In the world, in our community, in our own lives, chaos will come. But in those moments it’s good to know where to find peace that brings greater perspective, understanding and direction, and knowing that God is working all things together for His good and in His time.
