Strengthen your faith and overcome the circumstancesSýnishorn
Whoever believes in God will never be ashamed
Today’s Word: “Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God and that you are turning their hearts back again”. Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried “The Lord – he is God! The Lord – he is God!” (1 Kings 18:37-39)
The Prophet Elijah needed a miracle for the Lord to be exalted before a people who were torn between God and Baal.
He then proposed that sacrifices be made to prove who the true god was. The prophets of Baal should prepare their animal and place it on firewood without igniting it, crying out for the god they believed on. Elijah would do the same, invoking the God of Israel. The god who consumed the animal with fire, but only through prayer, would receive the title of true God.
Of course, many of those who were there did not believe in Elijah, but in the end they were touched by what happened: Elijah’s sacrifice was consumed without the natural fire, but by the fire of the Lord, who licked the sacrifice and everything around, including the water.
Elijah was bold, confident, and God honored him before all.
How often do we find ourselves facing situations that cannot be resolved? We profess our faith and people look to us as losers. They mock us and consider us underdogs. We are exposed, humiliated and judged as crazy by others, but God’s faithfulness to His Word will never let us be ashamed.
The answer to your prayer will come at the right time! At the end of your battle, everyone will see your miracle and know the power of the God you serve! Trust in the God who called you to be a winner!
Prayer: Lord, I’ll never be embarrassed or ashamed because of your name. At first, it may even seem like I’ve been defeated, people can laugh at me or feel sorry for me, but I know that the God I believe will stand up in my favor at the right time! My miracle will serve as a testimony in other people’s lives for your honor and your glory. In Jesus name. Amen.
About this Plan
We often fall into the error of just “wishing” for something to change and we think this is enough for God to act. Of course God knows us deeply and takes pleasure in seeing us fulfilled, but the way we relate to Him is only through faith. In this devotional, your faith will be strengthened through what the Bible promises, even if you are living difficult circumstances.
