A Time of War

DAY 3 OF 3

Like the Israelites, we’re leaving our status quo in the dark of night. We can’t really see where we’re going. We just know that we can’t stay where we’ve been. At the risk of getting lost we move forward into the unknown while the light starts to shine brighter and brighter with every step we take.

When we talk about Jerusalem and this kingdom we’re believing for we simply don’t know what it will look like. Nobody has gone before us. We are those crying in the wilderness. Those who will turn undeveloped territory into the city of God.

Yet it will require faith. It will require everything to do so.

Regardless, God has made up His mind. He desires to deliver us a kingdom. One that is going to advance over the face of the earth. There is no stopping Him and His agenda. His word cannot return void.

In Matthew 21:44, Jesus says in regards to the kingdom of God:

“And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

God’s kingdom will advance. It will either break those who are willing to take the journey, or it will ultimately crush those who choose to hold on to the past.

The choice is yours. Either way, it’s going to hurt! Yet the payoff will be incredible.

This journey is not for the faint of heart. It’s not going to be easy.

The Lord will listen as we try to figure out the future. He will provide revelation along the way so we can start documenting the “new normal” and write a book that will serve as a point of reference for the future. There will be questions, but collectively we will find the answers. Let’s just not be too quick to fill in the blanks. Let’s “speak to one another” before we determine what the future should look like.

No, it’s not all clear right now. But one thing I know for sure. It will be bright. It will be better.

Let’s move into the future together. Let’s shift!

Dag 2

About this Plan

A Time of War

In this leadership plan, Martijn van Tilborgh equips readers with the biblical strategies, stories, perspectives, and advice to navigate the cultural shift that is occurring in the church. When we better understand the kingdom culture which we all should be striving for with intentionality, we can more effectively pursue it in our lives and in the church.
