Daily Bible Reading – June 2021, God’s Word of HopeSýnishorn
June 23
Introduction
In the restored Jerusalem, foreigners are welcome. Portions of the Law had excluded foreigners and certain groups of people (see Deuteronomy 23:1-3), but all are now invited to take part in the new community of God’s people. The Israelites who returned to Jerusalem after the exile will now be joined by non-Israelites in worshiping God. Today’s reading concludes with a condemnation of Israel’s leaders who acted unjustly.

Sovereign God, you invite people from all nations to worship you. Teach me to honor you and faithfully keep your covenant. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
