I Can't Do Everything, but I Can Do EverythingSýnishorn
Gratitude is a decision
In Philippians 4:6-9 , Paul tell us: "Don't be anxious about anything, instead pray about everything."
I wonder how many people worry about everything and pray about nothing?
Paul encourages us not to worry, to pray, to ask God for what we need and to thank him for what he has done.
Are you allowing your complaints to limit your perspective and lead you to forget to thank God for all that He has already done in your life?
I want to encourage you to change your complaint to gratitude. Don't let complaint, fear, and challenge limit your gratitude.
Making the decision to be happy and grateful has a consequence: to experience the peace of God. Philippians 4:7 tells us that if we live in this way, we will experience the peace of God that surpasses all that we can understand.
Later, Paul encourages us to think about all that is good, true, and excellent. If we think about what is right we will always have a grateful heart. Nowadays, it's important that we constantly remember what God has done for us, in us, and with us.
What are you filling your mind with?
What we allow to enter our mind is very important. We have the responsibility to take authority over our thoughts and submit to obedience in Jesus Christ. Think of the good, the pure, the beautiful, and the admirable. Remember everything that God has done in your life and you will see how your attitude changes.
Prayer: Lord, in the middle of so many voices we hear, help me to think about all that You have done for me and will continue to do. I ask that You renew my thoughts and help me live a life of gratitude. Amen.
