The Spirit-Filled Entrepreneur: A 3-Day DevotionalSýnishorn
How did Jesus do it? He was the smartest, wisest, most competent spirit-filled man who ever walked the face of this planet. He lived every minute of his earthly days on mission, gave his life to fulfill his purpose, and was raised with glory to live forevermore; yet, he faced more obstacles and more temptations than you or I will ever face.
Thankfully, he tells us his secret in John 5:19. Don’t you just love a juicy secret? Listen in:
“...Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 NASB
If Jesus, the God/man, did nothing without watching, consulting, and being empowered by his Father, why would we even try to run our businesses without watching, consulting, and being empowered by him?
As children of God, and as business owners, we have 24/7, unfettered access to:
• God’s presence, the fount of all knowledge and wisdom
• God’s purposes, his vision, his intentions, and his plan
• God’s limitless power
In Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV), God tells us:
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Everything we need is in him.
But here’s the embarrassing gap. In the busyness of business, we often forget to call.
• At 9:00 am, before you talk to that client, call me and invite me into that space.
• When you email that new connection at noon, call out to me, and ask me to go ahead and pave the way.
• When you can’t pay the bills and anxiety is high, call me. I am the God of all peace, and I have a plan.
At every transition point through the day, we can talk to God and let him supply our needs.
This is God’s business. It is here to serve his purposes and be run by his power, to bring supernatural results for the glory of his name. All you and I need to do is call on him through the power of prayer.
How can you partner with God in the busyness of business today?
