Tune My Heart

DAY 1 OF 5

Sometimes there are things that try to define our hearts that aren’t true. Things that don’t line up from the Word of God.

Psalm 16:7 says:

"I will bless the Lord, Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons."

This verse gives us amazing insight into the counsel of our hearts.  A night season is a difficult time.  It is a time when we often feel discouraged and overwhelmed.  We have to be so careful of what defines our heart because it’s what instructs us, guides us, and leads us in any situation we may face.

This scripture reminded me of the song:

“Come, Thou fount of every blessing,/Tune my heart to sing Thy grace.” - Robert Robinson

What a beautiful prayer to the Author of EVERY blessing: “Tune my heart.”  Sometimes, we need to tune our hearts.  We need to develop our ability to tune into God’s voice at all times.  We also need to be able to tune out distractions that block His voice, to tune out all voices of criticism, doubt, unbelief, and negativity that come at us every day.

When a guitar is out of tune, the song that is meant to be beautiful can sound more like nails on a chalkboard. You know something’s not right. So, you have to stop and take the time to gently restore each string to its right place so the song will be beautiful again.

Jesus wants to restore some of your heartstrings so your song can be beautiful again. He wants to get hearts back in tune with what He says and with what He is speaking into situations and circumstances.

Let your prayer today be:  “Oh God, tune my heart to yours!  Let my situation be seen through your eyes.  Give me your perspective.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.”

About this Plan

Tune My Heart

We have to be careful of what defines our heart because it is what instructs, guides, and leads us. We need to develop our ability to tune into God’s voice at all times and be able to tune out distractions that block His voice. We can tune out all voices of criticism, doubt, unbelief, and negativity every day by tuning our hearts into God and His Word.
