Captive No More: Freedom From Pain, Shame and GuiltSýnishorn
Unseen Enemies
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Revelation 12:9
The devil specializes in the world of steal, kill and destroy. Once you are divided from God, you’ll soon find yourself apart from your wife, kids, life, and faith. Everything that is important to you becomes a target for this sharpshooter. These are a few truths about your unseen enemies:
- The supernatural realm is very real.
- This is not a battle we can win on our own.
- The war has already been won with the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- The attacks are relentless, but God has given us His armor of protection.
- Satan uses anyone and everyone against you. Even yourself.
- Through faith, we have the authority to resist the devil and he will flee.
- Satan is not God, so he is not omnipresent, but he has legions of demons at his command.
- There is no neutral ground in this war. You are either under the grace of God or the control of Satan.
Let’s wrap this up with the good news of Jesus Christ. A very big part of His ministry’s emphasis was on healing and deliverance. Jesus cast out demons to restore health and stability. He still heals, and He will heal you by setting you free from the bonds of your past pain. But you must allow Him in.
Call To Action
- Write out all of your personal experiences of demonic interference in your faith walk with Christ.
- Write out where you see yourself in the supernatural battle within the spiritual realm.
- Write out a battle plan to prevent Satan from invading your life. Maybe he enters through alcoholism, abuse, porn, or some sin-based addiction or behavior that creates an open door for his indwelling.

About this Plan
“Suck it up.” Those words empowered and encouraged me as a boy. They injured me as a man. When we talk about pain, we first think of physical pain from injury or accident. There is a masculine, internal block on the notion of our emotions or feelings being hurt. How could they be, we’re men after all!
