Fruit of the SpiritSýnishorn
Kindness
Being kind to somebody means showing goodness, generosity, and compassion. Like love and patience, kindness is a characteristic of God himself that should also be present in his children.
In Titus 3:4, we read how God’s salvation plan originated in his goodness and kindness: “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy”. This kindness of God is not limited to the possibility of forgiveness, but in the coming ages, He wants to “show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:7). That is the very promising future He has in store for his children!
The Spirit of God bears the same fruit of kindness in us if He dwells in our hearts. That’s why we are encouraged in Colossians 3:12 to “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience …”
Do you have a kind heart?
