Breakthrough- Find Beauty in the BreakingSýnishorn
Day 7 ARE YOU READY?
Today’s devotional is going to look a little different. We want you to spend the time reflecting through what’s often known as the “Beauty for Ashes” passage of scripture. ( Isaiah 61:1-8 )
Our hope is that as you pray through these verses, you will find encouragement and make notes for practical next steps from what you’ve learned.
Here are some definitions of the key words we’ve chosen from today’s reading for you to reflect on. Which one do you most relate to?
- REBUILD- Build something again after it has been damaged or destroyed
- RESTORE- Bring back into existence
- RENEW- Give fresh life or strength; to revive
- RELEASE- to relieve from something that confines, burdens, or oppresses
As we go through our lives, the reality is we need each other.
We need people believing for us when we cannot find the strength to claim if for ourselves. It’s ok that you aren’t “over it” yet and you sure don’t have to do this alone.
Can we pray over you right now?
We are believing that God knows your every need, your deepest hurts, your greatest hopes and is waiting to meet you. You aren’t broken, the best isn’t behind you and there will be VICTORY in this place.
Hold on; in time you will find beauty from this brokenness.
“Lord Jesus - We claim Your name, the name above EVERY fear, doubt, depression and sorrow. We know that You love us. You desire compassion, mercy, and redemption in our failures. Come have Your way in our hearts.
We offer all the ashes of what “could have been” and receive the promise of goodness to come! We speak FAITH instead of FEAR; JOY instead of despair. Our HOPE is in YOU ALONE, and we will not be overcome.
Teach us humility, selflessness, and allow our hearts to see others' pain instead of being consumed with our own. We ask that You would heal the broken places. Bring to life the dreams we’ve set aside in Your timing and in Your way. We desire more than anything to honor You with our lives, and come what may, we will praise You. Give us the strength to endure, to trust, to try again.
Take these broken pieces of our lives and make them beautiful. IN JESUS' NAME- AMEN.
Loving, believing and cheering you on- Nicole + Donna
DAILY ACTION STEP:
Write out a declaration sentence for each of these words that you can apply to yourself, your family, circumstance, or future. Find someone else who might need encouragement today and reach out to pray with them or do something nice for them!
