God Is

DAY 3 OF 4

In those moments where we feel like we just can’t catch a break and we so desperately need something to calm our mind, even just for a moment, we often reach for everything but God.

Why? My guess is that it’s tangible, meaning we can see it, touch it, and feel it. And not only that, some of the options are quick and we want to feel better ASAP.

The bad thing about our options is that they are all only temporary fixes. It’s not until we go to God that we find true peace regarding our situations. Peace that surpasses all understanding. No one understands what you need & when you need it more than your Creator. He sees the beginning from the end, meaning the peace you need was factored in.

The amazing thing about God's peace is that the effects are everlasting. Practicing giving our cares to God creates a habit that produces life long peace, even in the midst of turmoil. Over the years I've practiced living out 1 Peter 5:7 by giving my cares over to God, even in the middle of situations that have tight deadlines and need to be handled quickly. Here's an exercise that I've made a habit of doing & would like you to try.

  1. Go to a quiet space (your car, closet, bathroom, etc.)
  2. Tell God every anxiety or weight that you are carrying at that very moment. I mean everything, leave nothing untouched. God isn't afraid of your dark places. P.S. He already knows them anyway.
  3. Ask God to calm your spirit and help you focus on His promises. This would be a good time to recite the scriptures in the plan, they are promises of His protection, peace, and provision.
  4. Leave the situation in God's hands, wipe your eyes, and continue your day in faith knowing God will answer you. It may not be 20 seconds after you finish (sometimes it will), BUT He will answer. God will never disregard your plea to Him. He says when we cry out, He will hear us.

This is an exercise I started doing in 2016, and since then I've had many car and bathroom sessions with God. I can assure you every time I chose to go to God first before anyone or anything, He's never left me or abandoned me. He always came on time, in the right way. The best part, He will do the exact same for you and everyone else that calls upon Him.

About this Plan

God Is

In seasons of uncertainty, we tend to search for answers wherever we can find them. Our eyes are glued to social media, news channels, and the voices of many. But whether you're searching for the right path to take, protection, a provider, or peace of mind; I challenge you to find the answer in God. After all, everything we need...God Is.
