DAY 3 OF 3

MGISTS Devo: Day 3

Too often we tend to let our circumstances dictate our level of faith. When someone gets a scary diagnosis from their doctor or unexpected financial issues occur or maybe there’s a falling out in a relationship... These things can cause us to question everything! God, why is this happening? Did I do something wrong? Have you left me?

Thankfully, we can trust that God is never surprised by life’s events and He ALWAYS has a plan! Best of all, no matter what comes our way, it is never an indication that God has changed the way He sees us or feels about us. We are His children and He is the best Dad ever! (John 1:12)

Our Father loves us and nothing will ever change that. (Romans 8:38-39). Our Father, in His sovereignty, can and will work all things together for our good! (Romans 8:28) Our Father takes care of our every need! (Philippians 4:19)

You see, we can stand upon God’s promises! They are promises for our good and well being and they do not change because God doesn’t change! Our faith need not be dictated by life’s circumstances nor our fickle feelings and emotions when we have the solid rock of the words of the unchanging all-powerful God to stand upon.

Psalm 71:1-3 In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame! In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me! Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.

May God’s faithful nature and character be like a rock-built fortress for you to find refuge in always! God is still the same!
