5 Powerful Prayers to Transform School CommunitiesSýnishorn
God Strengthens
Devouring the Guinness Book of World Records each year as a young English boy, Edward Stephen Hall was mesmerized by the sports section, specifically the weight lifting records. Picturing his name at the top of this list, he set his focus on becoming the strongest man in the world. Consuming 12,500 calories per day combined with a daily training regimen requiring 8-9 hours, he deadlifted 1,102.3 pounds in 2017, crushing the former world record by 8%! Edward “The Beast” Hall-World’s Strongest Man.
In November of 2020, however, Oleksi Novikov broke Eddie’s record by 83 pounds, becoming the world’s youngest, strongest man at age 24. From Popeye to Eddie to Oleksi, human strength is a quality lauded and admired.
On a different plane, however, is the strength of the Lord. No one can compare with Him. His desire is that we would train spiritually, even from a young age, to become strong in character and faith. I Timothy 4:8 says, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
Today, as we continue to pray powerful prayers to transform school communities, we trust the Lord to raise up young men and women, teachers and administrators who are strong both in body and spirit, as well as in character and conviction.
Let’s pray today, praising our strong God and for hearts of strength that will stand strong on behalf of others.
Praise our Strong God!
“Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” Psalm 24:8 God, You are the King who is strong and mighty. You are abundant in strength. We declare your strength in every school community. We praise Your great name!
Pray for Hearts of Strength
“Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.” I Corinthians 16:13
Lord, we ask for a generation of young men and women who, according to our scripture today from I Corinthians, are strong in character and of good courage, who do not give way to fear. May their beliefs and convictions be based on the foundation of Your truth. May they advance courageously in the battle, experiencing Your victory.
Pray for Hearts to Stand Strong on Behalf of Others
“Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.” Romans 15:1
Lord, we pray for all those in our school community who are discouraged. Place students and staff in strategic places to bear the weaknesses of those without strength. Come to their rescue. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
