Jesus I AmSýnishorn
Jesus says, “Where I’m going you may be also, and you know the way to where I am going.”
This is so comforting for us. That Jesus is so clear in instructing us the only way: Himself. What a gift, what a treasure that God never withholds Himself from us. That He is a good, good Father who desires to give good gifts to His kids. Have you ever wondered what God the Father is like? Have you ever felt like you might have a skewed understanding of who The Father is? Maybe you had a poor earthly dad growing up and you try to avoid knowing God as Father.
The beauty of our God is that He is three in one - a Triune God. Which is good news for those who know Jesus; you know the Father also. We are given such a clear picture of who God the Father is through His Son, Jesus!
Which means, if we want to know who the Father is, we must look to Jesus. We read this so beautifully in John 1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" (John 1:1-5).
- He is the truth - the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, JESUS!
- He is the life - in Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- He is the way- the only way. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
This is our salvation. That we may know who God is by knowing Jesus. That God made Himself human to dwell among us, gave us His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, and that we may dwell with our Triune God - Father, Son, and Spirit - for all of eternity.
Let’s approach today with a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness that God sent His one and only Son! For you and I. That whoever believes in the Name of Jesus may have life and life to the fullest.
Jesus, thank You that this is Who You Are. You are THE ONLY WAY, THE ONLY TRUTH, THE ONLY LIFE. Jesus we don’t want this life if you aren’t in it. Teach us to see life through the lenses of the gospel everyday.
