It's Time to Wage War with Your Thoughts
Reflection
Our thoughts are powerful, formidable enough to be used by us as weapons in changing the course of our life. As each day passes, our mind is engrossed in an unending battle involving our thoughts in a bid to gain control over our body. These thoughts could have a positive or negative flow, with the dominant thought gaining control over the mind. This happens in varying situations each day. Therefore, it's important that we war intentionally with our thoughts to flush negative and distracting thoughts, which seem to hover all around us, out of our minds.
The power to make thwart and fight off negative thoughts lies inside us. This we can do by intentionally maintaining the right atmosphere around us. Our atmosphere is formed from the things we see, hear, and read. All these are constantly at war with our minds to gain control over the body. We can constantly win this war of the mind through intentionally thinking positive thoughts each day. In this way, we take possession of our minds as we refute negative thoughts around us. We become indifferent to those thoughts or things that are at variance with our life goals and plans.
These things could be addictions and limiting beliefs that make you unable to accomplish your goals, or the wrong company of people we surround ourselves with. You are no longer weak to say no to these things when you are intentional about the things you think. Can you remember the last time you said "no" to a negative dominant thought or temptation? How did you feel after you overcame the temptation? God is calling you to make war on your thoughts today. He wants you to be in charge of your life by making war with negative and limiting thoughts that surround your life. Resolve today not to allow negative thoughts to control your life. Choose to wage war with your thoughts and be in control of your life.
Prayer
God, help me to make war with my thoughts. I need your help to say "no" to negative thoughts and emotions. Help me overcome this temptation.
Next step
Take time to think of those addictions and limiting beliefs in your life. Write them out and begin to war with them with the word of God. Stay positive and affirmative.
Scripture: Ephesians 4:23
