Give God Your Yes

DAY 1 OF 6

What God calls us to do, he also enables us to do.

We are NOT enough! I so often hear people say, “I feel like I am not enough,” and then they set about to try to be enough and convince themselves and everyone around them that they are enough only to see that they are not enough and either run around in a circle of shame and self-hatred or puff themselves up and become prideful. I want you to know something—by yourself, you will never be enough. “Simply urging people to be good, telling them to draw from the depths of their personality, introducing them to behavioral science, trying to legislate their actions with punishment or prison—ultimately none of these can succeed in producing righteousness from human beings” (Major Ian Thomas).

Jesus died on the cross because we are not enough, but He is more than enough. There is so much talk about grace these days, but the Lord keeps taking me back to another word, and that is mercy—compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. First Peter 1:3-4 (AMPC) says, “Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you.” My prayer for you is that you find Him . . . and that you begin to see that He is more than enough. So it is eyes off of self and on Him. With that in mind, have a wonderful day . . . oh, and by the way, He is a transforming God, and He will make all things new—and that includes you.

Remember, just as God is faithful to enable you to do what He has called you to do, He will do the same for your children as well. Second Chronicles 16:9 (AMPC) says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in the behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.”

About this Plan

Give God Your Yes

Have you decided to walk in obedience to God, or do you think you debate His every command? You will often face a crisis of belief as you choose to obey, and each time you will change and be more conformed to God’s image. If you give God your YES, God will lead you into His plan for your life and give you the power to do it.
