2 Corinthians 12:9-10 declares, “But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
What is your relationship to weakness? As believers, we have the tendency to feel shame when faced with weakness. How do you categorize it? Does it come disguised as anxiety, fear, insecurity, hopelessness, anger, or doubt? The Lord turns this and says that His grace is all we need because, at our weakest point, His power comes in and perfects us. This is an invitation to surrender, giving Him our "weakness" and allowing Him to bring a transformation.
A surrendered life doesn't boast in the good it can accomplish, but in its weakness. There is now space for you to see His strength, His faithfulness, and His goodness. He turns doubt to faith, hopelessness to hope, and fear and anxiety to peace that transcends all understanding.
Our humanity is real, and these emotions are valid. Our prayer is that the shame of weakness would disappear, and in its place, His strength is felt now right where you are. Declare and believe, "When I am weak, then I AM STRONG!"
