DAY 18 OF 21

God’s salvation plan

It is amazing how far God has gone to save humans. He is so immeasurably great. In His eyes, whole nations are “like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales” (Isaiah 40:15). He is so immeasurably wise and strong. “The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men” (1 Corinthians 1:25). He is eternal, and we are just “a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes” (James 4:14).

All this makes us wonder: “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of  man that you care for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4).

But our smallness did not prevent God from giving His only beloved Son for the sake of humanity. Even before the foundation of the world, He had already made a salvation plan. We can’t grasp that; we can’t understand how the foreknowledge of God and the responsibility of man can co-exist. But the Bible tells us for a fact that God was not surprised by our sin. He knew this would happen, and He had decided to save us. God the Son became man, suffered and died, was raised from the dead and given glory… all “for the sake of you who through him are believers in God”.

Praise God for His greatness, and for His amazing love for us little creatures!
