God Never Sleeps Nor Slumbers
Psalm 121:3b
He who watches over you will not slumber.
A keeper means a person who looks after something or someone. For example, a zookeeper is someone who works in a zoo and cares for the animals in the zoo. A zookeeper is responsible for the feeding and daily care of the animals. While the zookeeper is caring for the animals, they are not supposed to rest, sleep or slumber.
Sleeping is important for our body. Even if you try to pull an all nighter and stay up all night, at some point you will still need to lie down and sleep. Do you know that when you are sleeping, God keeps working?
When you have a good sleep at night, there is Someone who looks at you with so much tender love, sustains all things and holds all things together and makes sure everything you need is provided. He is our God.
God is our keeper. He neither sleeps nor slumbers. There is not a moment in which God would take His eyes off of you. He keeps you and me by His side 24/7.
Prayer
Dear God, I trust in You when I am awake and when I am asleep. I find all of my confidence in You because You never slumber and never sleep. Amen.
