Daily Bible Reading–January 2021 God's Word of LifeSýnishorn
January 10
Introduction
Today’s reading concludes the discourse that began with verse 25 (see yesterday’s reading). Jesus is aware that there are those in the crowd who will choose to turn away. Jesus says that the words he speaks bring God’s life-giving Spirit, and Simon Peter affirms that Jesus is the Holy One who has come from God.
Today's Scripture Reading
John 6:60-71
Today’s Key Verse: John 6:68b
Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.
Reflect
Why did some of Jesus’s followers turn away (verse 60)? What did Simon Peter say (verse 68)? What is your understanding of “the words that give eternal life”?
Pray
Lord Jesus, I believe and know that you are the Holy One who has come from God. I trust in you knowing that you have the words that give eternal life. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Those who find Jesus’s teaching too hard and turn away
Tomorrow’s Reading
Luke 7:1-17: Jesus heals a Roman officer’s servant and restores a widow’s son to life.
