Purpose Over Panic Part 2: Embracing Your Call in the Midst of It AllSýnishorn
Stephen the Martyr
Every person was born on purpose to fulfill a purpose.
I cannot express the aches of my heart when I read about the boldness of Stephen. He preached with conviction and would not stop sharing his message despite the anger that arose in his listeners.
Could you imagine having a purpose to fulfill that would cost you your life? Would you still follow Jesus and would you still move forward with your purpose?
I imagine Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, illuminated with the light of Christ, and boldly proclaiming the good news of the gospel with fire! His example should challenge every believer to do more! He understood that this world was not our home and to be absent from this body meant that he would be present with Christ.
Stephen’s commitment to his purpose did not end well by man’s standards. His opponents rushed him to attack and stone him. Stephen’s purpose cost him his life but it gained him an eternal crown!
