#4: The How and Who
Psalm 150:3-5, “Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high-sounding cymbals.” [KJV]
David is not just telling us the where and the why of praise, he is showing us the how of praise. How do you praise God? Bring an instrument. If you do not have one, then you become the instrument, sing and dance before God. In other words, David is saying when it is time to praise God, you have to be loud. Let’s take the trumpet for example, it is impossible to blow the trumpet, string the harp, or clash the cymbals silently. If I were to summarize how to praise, it would be do not be still, praise Him as loud as you can! You cannot be still and dance at the same time. You cannot be playing cool before your Maker. I guess this is one of the reasons why God loved David so much. David could literally be a fool for God.
God expects that we praise Him with everything we have, everything we are, everything we will ever be and everything we will ever have – everything! When I read a passage where David says, ‘let everything that is within me praise the Lord’, I pause and ask, how would a person’s lungs praise the Lord? When you dance what happens? Your lungs plus everything within you begin to shake - nothing stays still. Bring all the challenges you have in mind and body as you begin to dance before God. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the issues you have will shake into place and healing will happen.
Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord”[KJV]. Do you want to know if you should praise God? Check if you are breathing. If you are breathing – praise! David says, let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Who should praise the Lord? Everything that has breath and that means you, too! Make your life a praise song to God. One sure way to do this is to surrender your life to Jesus to be loved and used by Him. As you surrender your life to Jesus and make Him Lord of your life, I pray that God will breathe on you and change your life. I also pray that God will turn your life around for the praise and glory of His Holy Name.
Now, just breathe and say to the Lord, ‘Father, because I have breath in me, I will praise You. This breath proves that I qualify to praise You and praise You I shall!’

About this Plan
As God’s own, one key component in our DNA should be praise and worship. God is drawn to where He is worshiped sacrificially. God can send angels to attend to prayers on His behalf but He attends to worship Himself. Praise is potent spiritually; it can change the seasons of your life. We must make up our minds to give God qualitative praise and worship. Praise is a big deal.
