Stand Out: Living for Christ in a Corrupt WorldSýnishorn
Boast in the Lord Alone
4:6-21: In 4:6-13, apostle Paul makes a contrast between the claims of the Corinthians that they were spiritually rich and the apostles who were considered despised by the world. Then, in verses 14-21, Paul challenges the Corinthian believers to be spiritually humble.
All of us face the temptation of thinking that we have achieved certain things because of our own wisdom or strength. As a result, we boast about our achievements. Sometimes, we can even become proud of our spiritual accomplishments.
We must remember that all the gifts, talents, abilities, and blessings we have are from God. If we truly acknowledge that all that we have is from the Lord, we will not be arrogant. Instead, we will be humble and our hearts will be filled with thanksgiving. There is no ground for our boasting. Let's boast in the Lord alone!
Prayer: Lord, help me to humble myself and be thankful for all you have given me. Help me to boast in you alone.
