Keys To Intimacy With GodSýnishorn
Seven Keys to Intimacy
The Apostle Paul understood the capacity of knowing Jesus. He said, “Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all garbage. All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to him.”
Jesus already knows every thought, problem, and experience you have ever had. He wants you to know Him. These are the keys to help unlock the door and enter into His presence.
The first key is desire. Entering the temple in Jerusalem was an uphill journey from any direction. When we pursue God, it is also an uphill journey. If you desire fellowship, nothing will tear you away from knowing God. However, if there is no desire, you are probably never going to know Him in a personal way.
The second key is openness. God requires honesty. There is no need to hide anything from Him. He already knows it all.
The third key is humility. There is nothing worse than trying to fellowship with a prideful person. When you admit that you need God and cannot do it by yourself, it places you at His feet.
The fourth key is agreement. Intimacy with God means walking with Him; we must agree with Him about where we are going. We need to be in agreement with His Word and what He wants from us as His children.
The fifth key is obedience. In the book of John, it says, “If you love Me, show it by doing what I’ve told you.”
The sixth key to intimacy with God is focus. Does God have your attention? Do you know His heart as you know the heart of someone you love? God has a way of getting your attention, one way or another. You would be a lot wiser to give Him your full attention rather than waiting for something to happen that gets your attention. When you are His child, He plans on having your attention.
The final key to an intimate relationship with God is responsiveness. The keys to intimacy with God are in your hands. Jesus is at the door knocking. Jesus is pursuing you because He wants you, but you must be responsive. You must unlock the door to let Him in to your life. The keys are in your hands. Open the door.
