Real Hope: The Attributes of GodSýnishorn
God Is Love
John 3:16 is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Bible. It has even been called the ‘Gospel in a nutshell’. Yet, it’s impossible to fathom or comprehend the love of God, unless you have received it by revelation from the Spirit of God.
One of the ways my husband and I have tried to nurture our teenage son Samuel’s relationship with the Lord is through daily prayer times.
Every morning, and every night before bed, we pray and give thanks to Jesus. This is our way that we believe the eyes of Sam’s heart, not just his head, will see Jesus as true, beautiful, faithful… and as a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Throughout the years, Sam has seen the reward of his prayers, though not always through them being answered the way he wants! At times, God has answered him with peace and supernatural wisdom beyond his years when struggling with exams or with friendships. But I guess, the greatest reward from a mother’s heart has been me witnessing firsthand the internal strength and courage in Sam to stand for Truth – that can only be God-given.
As our Heavenly Father, God knows our divine potential, and knows that we are all capable of more than we realise. When I look at my teenage son, I’m reminded when God wanted to free the Israelites from the Philistines, He sent a shepherd boy. A teenager!

About this Plan
Have you ever tried to explain God to someone? Not just what He has done, but who He is. There’s so much about God that is hard to fully comprehend. He is so majestic and omnipotent that mere words sometimes don’t do Him justice. The study of God’s attributes is not just about acquainting ourselves with Him, but is about getting know Him. To build a greater relationship with Him.
