Let's Go Over to the Other SideSýnishorn
Before stepping into the boat with the disciples, Jesus saw that the storm was coming and he stepped into the boat anyway. The same goes for the storms that we are currently facing in our own lives. Jesus saw those storms coming, and he chose to embrace them with us. He didn’t say that life would be easy, but he did promise that he would be with us through the challenges. He stepped into the storm with the disciples, and he also saw through the storm. In the same way, he sees through our storms and he sees the hope in our future. This hope that we can hold onto is not dependent on our circumstances, but on the steadfast word of God. When the storm is strong, and everything feels like it’s going wrong, we can hold onto the peace that is found in Jesus because he is the God of peace. This peace is not the absence of something bad, but the presence of something, and someone, good: Jesus. Even in the middle of the most difficult seasons, we can have peace because Jesus is with us. In the midst of the challenge, Jesus spoke to the storm. He challenged the problem by holding onto the faithfulness of God and speaking in faith. Jesus is in the boat, he sees the other side, hold onto him, and the storm will dissipate.
