Jesus Over ResultsSýnishorn
Sometimes when our life makes a turn for the worst, or the results don’t seem to measure up with the lifestyle we live, we begin to question everything. Maybe a tragedy happens in your family. Maybe you lose your job unexpectedly. Maybe your marriage begins to fall apart, or you get into a car accident. The list could go on and on. As we look at the lives of the people around us, sometimes we begin to associate their outcomes and results with their everyday behavior.
In John 9, Jesus is walking along with his disciples, and they see a man who had been blind since birth. The disciples asked Jesus, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus give us the reasons for this man’s result to be blind. This man is blind because somebody made a mistake, right? The results were a direct result of this man’s behavior or his parent’s behavior, wasn’t it?
But Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.” GAME CHANGER. All results of your life aren’t used against you. The results of your life, your marriage, your kids, your job performance, your grades, and your pursuit of Jesus is so that the works of God might be displayed in you.
Jesus is over results.
